Our Camp Philosophy
At camp, we create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment where every child can grow in confidence, discipline, and teamwork through Jiu-Jitsu.
We emphasize:
- Respect for others
- Self-control
- Effort over perfection
- Safety at all times
Student Code of Conduct
Respect Everyone
- Treat instructors, coaches, and fellow students with kindness and respect.
- Keep hands, feet, and words to yourself unless instructed during training.
- No bullying, teasing, or exclusion.
Listen & Follow Directions
- Pay attention when instructors are speaking.
- Follow instructions the first time they are given.
- Stay with the group and do not wander off.
Train Safely
- Use techniques only as instructed.
- No roughhousing, horseplay, or unsupervised sparring.
- Tap early and respect your partner's tap immediately.
- Report injuries or concerns right away.
Show Discipline & Self-Control
- Demonstrate focus during drills and activities.
- Use Jiu-Jitsu only for training—not to harm others outside of class.
- Maintain a positive attitude, even when things are challenging.
Be a Good Teammate
- Encourage other.
- Be patient with partners of all skill levels.
- Take turns and share equipment.
Personal Responsibility
- Arrive on time and ready to train.
- Keep uniform (gi/no-gi attire) clean and appropriate.
- Bring water and required gear each day.
Behavior Expectations & Consequences
To maintain a safe and productive environment:
- Verbal reminder
- Light Calisthenics (planks, wall-sits, push-ups, etc.)
- Sit-out / reset period
- Parent notification
- Removal from activity or dismissal from camp (if necessary)
Serious behaviors (bullying, unsafe conduct, repeated disrespect) may result in immediately contacting a parent.
Parent / Guardian Expectations
Timeliness
- Ensure your child arrives on time and is picked up promptly.
- Notify staff of any absences or late arrivals.
Health & Safety
- Do not send your child if they are sick or contagious.
- Inform instructors of injuries, medical conditions, or special needs.
- Ensure your child maintains proper hygiene (clean uniform, trimmed nails).
Support the Learning Environment
- Encourage your child to follow camp rules and show respect.
- Reinforce discipline, patience, and sportsmanship at home.
- Allow instructors to coach and correct behavior during camp.
Communication
- Address questions or concerns respectfully with staff.
- Share any important behavioral or emotional considerations that may impact your child’s participation.
Spectator Conduct
- Observe quietly and respectfully during training.
- Do not coach from the sidelines or interrupt instruction.
- Support all students—not just your own child.
Agreement
By participating in camp, students and parents acknowledge and agree to follow these expectations to ensure a safe, fun, and productive experience for everyone.
